And the Beat Goes On

And it's a new year since our last post! This new year finds us full of new adventures and some challanges. Jacob continues to work at Blood Assurance as a Phlebotomist but is finishing up his last class and looking forward to looking for a new job when he graduates! Leisa is still working at the Dental Office as an assistant and is loving it.
Our first Christmas together was absoultly wonderful. We stayed in Georgia this year and spent Christmas with Jacobs family and had so much fun! Christmas Eve was spent with his family laughing and eating. Unfortunatly the pictures from that day and most of Christmas are missing in action on a memory card that broke. Christmas morning we spent together, Leisa woke Jacob up at 6:45 in the morning because she couldnt wait any longer to give him his gifts. We had so much fun opening gifts and talking. And then we headed out to see the rest of the family for the day. It was definitly a Christmas to remember.

Shortly after that Leisa underwent some surgery to remove some pain she was having and was diagnosed with endometriosis. She has healed well from the surgery and is grateful to all the help she received especially from Jacob and her mom who came down for a week and a half.

This last month a wonderful suprise happened to Jacob. We were called in to the Stake Presidents office and he was extended the call to be the second counselor in the Bishopric of the Brainerd Ward. Which also means that he would be ordained as a High Priest. Jacob was ordained that following week by his father Melvin Wimpee in a very humble and sweet blessing. We then got to spend the rest of the day with the family which was so great.
Here is a picture of our Beautiful neice Hope!
It truly was an incredible day.

A couple of weeks later we went hiking with the Tidwell family who is Jacobs oldest sister and their children and also his younger brother Aubrey. We had a great time hiking all the way down to a beautiful waterfall and then back up again.
Then a few weeks later Jacob and Leisa went out to Oregon for Leisa's grandfather's 80th birthday! There we got to see to Oregon coastline, all of Leisa's Dad's extended family, and meet the first nephew of the Newton family. Peter and Melanie's son Zach. The scenery was breathtaking and the company hilarious. It was a short vacation but well worth it. We stayed in a very large beautiful house 15 yards from the beach and went and expolred the ocean every day. It was so great to have everyone together and celebrate the life of Grandpa! Happy Birthday Grandpa! What an amazing place!
