Moving to Vegas

So Jacob and I officially moved to Las Vegas in May. It happened pretty quickly, Jacob interviewed and they decided they wanted him and right then! So literally two weeks later we moved. The tornado happened in the middle of us packing so we packed a couple of days in the dark and with no electricity. We spent Sunday helping clean up the Tornado, which was scary and yet so fulfilling to be able to get my hands in and clean up.

This was our last sight of Ringgold as we left and moved out west.

We picked up my mom in Nashville and then tried to head towards Oklahoma. Memphis was flooding so badly that they rerouted us away from the freeway. It took us an extra 2 1/2 hours that day.

I love these huge windmills....someday I want one at my house!

Texas was a fun state to cross, too bad it was just a little bit in the north part!

In New Mexico I met up with my mission companion, Tara Salmon Fears ( I can't believe I didn't get a picture!) We all were very impressed with New Mexico, it's people, and scenery.

My mom and I went to Hoover Dam together after Jacob had traveled up to Provo for his training. The hoover Dam was on my list of the things I want to see/do before I die. I'm glad I can check it off my list, it's AMAZING!

The somach sinking look over the edge of the Dam.

Jacob and I came back after training in Provo for 2 weeks and went on this NEVER ENDING hike through the Red Rock Canyon. We ran out of water and had a mile and a half left. In the deseret, definitly not one of my finer hikes, I complained the whole last mile. I was miserable. The first half od the hike was BEAUTIFUL and we got to see Bighorn deseret sheep, which ALMOST made it worthwhile.

This last picture is when we still had a 1/4 of the hike left...hence the last picture! I was just done.
