I am so irritated with Blogger!

For some reason with this entry I cannot figure out how to edit my images. I cannot move them and they have popped up in all the wrong order. I haven't figured out yet how to put more than four pictures up at once, so it gets frusterating. Usually I can cut and paste the pictures in the order I wnt, and have been able to all day until this entry...grrr...so sorry they are all mixed up!

ANYWAYS, here is the trip we went on a couple weeks ago..

THE PLAN
The area we end up....so small it's not even named on the map...but it is an island to the southwest of Tallahassee and actually apalachiola is writtne across it....That's where we were!

On the east end of the island is a state park ... the beach untouched. You can see where Hurricane waters have come up and pushed trees over. It's also where sea turtles are born! Which I wanted to see but didn't....

The sand was beautiful, white and soft! (Well not so much on Jacob's sunburned feet,...ouch!)

We can never go to the beach without some kind of sea life injury.....this year? A crab pinched jacobs foot at the base of his pinky toe.
I love how Jacob squints like a little kid in this picture....haha

Some shells and a sea snail we found!

The minute you enter Florida there are two big differences. First there are palm trees everywhere....second there is sand everywhere. I mean we stopped right across the border and walked in the gas station and there was sand everywhere....3 hours from the ocean...crazy!

One night there was a really beautiful storm out in the ocean...the picture below is of this old sailboat, and the light in the distance is actually lightening. The wind was warm, and it was peaceful...I love moments like that!

The original purpose for St George island was for this lighthouse. It was the only thing on the island except the house where the keeper and his family lived. It was originally built in the 1800's but was destroyed just a few years ago in a hurricane. It has now been rebuilt and for $5.oo you can walk up the stairs ( I said no thanks and just took a picture outside...if it was original, I probably would have.)

We went to this fun restaraunt where I ordered soft shelled crab, i love soft shelled crab, but thought it sould be boiled...it was good fried though too...just not for my thighs!
(Yes that is a whole crab fried)

Jacob got shark! ( yep fried again)

Look at that menu!

Fun little town...

The three mile long bridge we had to drive on to get out there....
All of these little houses that sell random things are all over the place it reminds me of the movie skeleton key or something...
Bear what?
Two little known facts about me every time I travel I grab a bag of cheetos and peanut butter m&ms kind of a good time treat....love it!

We had such a great time. The beach was quiet and uncrowded, there was only two inns and one gas station and one grocery store. The greatest part is that they have hundreds of beautiful beach houses with their own pools you can rent. We kept thinking wow, I can't wait to go back and bring people with us!
